Hello! My name is Lauren Hea… which is pronounced HEEE, to save any confusion. I went to Brown County High School, and I am now obviously attending John Wood Community College. What made me want to attend J-dub were a few simple reasons. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after high school, and I didn’t want to attend a four year university and become overwhelmed with any uncertainties. Another reason was the cost of John Wood compared to anywhere else. I knew that by choosing to come here first, I would be choosing to save myself financially. I now know what I want to do with my life and my career, I can honestly thank John Wood for making me realize it! I will now get my Associate’s Degree as a transfer student, and I plan to attend SIU-Carbondale and enroll in their Dental Hygiene program. Even though someone can go get a certificate at a 2 year program for Dental Hygiene, I strongly feel that a Bachelor’s Degree will take me even further in my chosen career.
